Sale bucks - final listing

Eleven (11) bucks from the 2011 Western Maryland Pasture-Based Meat Goat Performance Test met the Gold, Silver, or Bronze standards of performance for growth, parasite resistance, and resilience and minimum standards for reproductive and structural soundness. and are eligible for the sale.

This year's sale will be held Saturday, September 24 at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center near Boonsboro, Maryland. The bucks will be sold via silent auction. The bidding period will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Whoever has the highest bid price at the end of the bidding period gets the buck. Bucks that do not qualify for the sale may be purchased via private treaty.

Seven Kiko does have been consigned for private treaty sales. Both consigners have bucks in the sale. View listing of does.

As you view the pictures, keep in mind that most of the pictures were taken after the bucks were clipped for ultrasound scanning. Many of the pictures were also taken while it was raining or rainy. In other words, they are not the most flattering pictures of the bucks. Nor were the bucks eager to cooperate for picture-taking.

Teats - 2 functional teats are preferred. Fish and cluster teats are defects.

Ratios
For ADG, the ratio shows how the buck compares to the average buck in the test.
For SC and REA, the ratio shows how the buck compares to the average buck in his weight group (40-49 lbs, 50-59 lbs., etc.)
