Housing

Housing and shelter needs for sheep and goats vary by climate, geographic region, season, production system, and personal preferences of the shepherd. Even if livestock spend most or all of their time outside, some type of facilities are usually needed to store feed and equipment and handle, isolate, and quarantine animals. On this page, links are arranged alphabetically according to topic: bedding, building plans, confinement, feed storage, handling, housing, pest control, shelter, space, and ventilation.

Click on the title bars to open and close the drop down lists. Use the menu on the left to find links on specific topics.

All of the links on this page were last verified 20-jan-14. Please report broken links to Susan Schoenian at sschoen@umd.edu.
