Alternative Feeds

It is getting increasingly expensive to feed sheep, goats, and other livestock, as the competition for traditional feedstuffs increases. At the same time, ruminant livestock provide an outlet for many of the by-products from crop production, feed and food processing. On this page, links pertaining to alternative feedstuffs are organized according to subject: co-products, crop residues, drought feeding, feed blocks, general (information), grain, other feedstuffs, reducing feed costs, reduced hay rations, soybean hulls, and urea. Click on the title bars to open and close the drop down lists. Use the menu on the left to find links on specific topics.

All of the links on this page were last verified 09-Dec-2012. Please report broken links to Susan Schoenian at sschoen@umd.edu.
